In todays world, every company is putting emphasis on maintaining sustainable strategies in every field of business operations. Being it marketing, sales or operations, sustainability is maintained. The current process used in Ice Rink is not at all eco-friendly. It hampers the Ozone layer of the atmosphere. Environment is polluted in a certain degree that is not considered as sustainable in the present field of work. The dimension of environmental footprint includes sustainable strategies related to supply chains (Krajewski et al. 2013). There are certain processes that are considered as best practices such as lean manufacturing, and six sigma. These environmental supply chain processes will help the company in defining sustainability in terms of economic and ecological factors. Ice Rink must use renewable sources of energy instead of non-renewable sources. It is seen that non-renewable sources are the main determinants of pollution. The company is facing challenges in changing the present methods of operational process. However, to sustain this in the long run, the best practices of supply chain along with use of renewable sources of energy must be used in order to reduce environmental impact. On successful implementation of the sustainable measures, it is necessary to measure the degree of effectiveness of those approaches at the organizational level (Hill and Hill 2012).
